The time you take to prepare your home for sale prior to it being listed is critical to ensuring your home looks its best in the eyes of potential buyers. Here are some tips for selling your home this Spring. 


Organize your home room by room to de-personalize and create space. People need to be able to see themselves living in the home and if you have family photos and other personal items throughout the home it can make it difficult for potential buyers to do so. Also, by decluttering you will be creating space and showing off the home’s potential.

Fix Minor Repairs

Go through your home and fix those minor issues that you have been putting off such as tightening screws on doors and cupboards, touching up paint and replacing burnt lightbulbs. 

Deep Clean

Give your home a deep cleaning before your property hits the market. This means washing your windows, wiping down walls/baseboards, cleaning light fixtures and any other surface that needs a cleaning.

Up Your Curb Appeal

The first thing potential buyers see when they pull up to your house is the outside. Spruce it up a bit to help impress potential buyers before they even step foot in your home. Consider items like power washing your siding, trimming/pruning your flower beds and painting your front and garage doors and any other maintenance that is necessary to shape up your curb appeal. 

Know the Market

Enlist the help of a real estate agent to help you understand the current real estate market and what that means to you when it comes to selling your home. Work with them to price your home right the first time. Price too high and you risk losing potential buyers who think your home is out of their price range. Price too low and you risk not getting as much money for your home as you can.
